Organisations active worldwide
Climate Action Network. "The Climate Action Network (CAN) is a worldwide network of over 900 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in more than 100 countries, working to promote government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels." (their words, our italics)

350.org is a global climate action networking organisation helping the numerous groups who care about climate change work together effectively.

Greenpeace is known for activism, but they're also strong in research into breaches of law, international agreements and ethics.

The Climate Coalition: a group of more than 100 organisations, in some way supporting the struggle against climate change, together representing 11 million members.

Friends of the Earth International: representing some 2 million members globally, is another group that speaks out, and tends to know its stuff.
Friends of the Earth Scotland is a better source for locally relevant information and actions.

Climate Reality Project: a group + global network of prominent and passionate folks helping to tackle the issue, set up by Al Gore (following "an inconvenient truth"). Also coordinating educational activities.

The Climate Desk: Though this is a journalism-based group and therefore not an ideal primary source, it is an umbrella organisation supported by a number of (slightly) more independent news groups and tries to improve coverage of the integrated aspects.

Union of Concerned Scientists (USA): a pressure group set up in response to the industrially driven propaganda ($400,000,000 worth at the start...) hijacking the term "science".

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) also has a substantial WWF Climate Change concern with background information
.

Avaaz is a campaigning group with serious clout. Campaign subjects are selected democratically and usually carefully; actions are effective. With their 38+ million members they effectively represent a medium sized country! Climate Change is one of their members' strong causes. Few staff so research is issue driven and limited.

Green Cross International: an independent organisation which enjoys consultative status to various UN and other councils and structures; for over 20 years...

The Climate Change Task Force: a group of climate experts, world leaders, nobel peace laureates, and others: helping create the political will to address climate change.

The Earth Charter Initiative: an independent global network embracing the Earth Charter principles, including both governments and organisations amongst its 6000+ members.

Scientists for Global Responsibility: a UK
professional membership organisation supporting peace, social justice and environmental responsibility for and through its ~900 members. Informative site.

World Development Network, now called Global Justice Now, is an organisation which because of its remit includes a climate change focus: social consequences of climate change are biased strongly against the less wealthy of the earth.
2014/15/16/17, Aberdeen Climate Action CIC: here to help awareness grow, to make change happen, and not to profit
